Ядрьоний колайдер, #$@!
Десь два роки тому серед львівських інтелектуалів була популярною тема, яка навіть на короткий час витіснила з розмов за "чаєм" тему про Вону та руки, які нічого не крали. Але ця тема так само несподівано обірвалася, як і виникла. Мова йде про LHC (не плутати з LSD!), тобто Великий андронний колайдер. Всі боялися кінця світу, але щось там пенькнуло, з системи охолодження надпровідних магнітів витік гелій і прогнозованого кінця світу не сталося.
У зв'язку з цим ажіотаж потрохи вщух, залишивши після себе тільки риторичне питання - стільки вони бабла в то вгрохали, а де ж обіцяний кінець світу??? Згодом інформаційне затишшя дивним чином викликало зростання
зацікавленості - а що ж там наш колайдер, а може вони його потиху юзають і нам нічого про це не кажуть?
Так от - нарешті можемо спати спокійно, бо повідомили: колайдер полагодили і здійснили тестові прогони пучків протонів як в один, так і в другий бік. А наступного тижня почнуть робити перші зіткнення. Так що - не пропустіть, готуйтеся.
Ті, хто має які-небудь бомбосховища, мабуть почуватимуться впевненіше.

Моя думка про адронний колайдер така. Єврапейци-єврапєйци злякалися, що вже початок ХХІ ст., а в серйозній науці нема поступу з середини ХХ (якщо не з початку). Світ досі користується винаходами і відкриттями, зробленими у ХІХ і ХХ ст. Немає ривка. Тому у цьому всьому неврозі вирішили вбахати мільярди євро щоб хоч щось нове відкрити.
