Кілька слів про еліту
Період Калі-юги, який переживає наш народ і весь світ (не плутати з "економічною кризою") характеризується, поміж іншим, і викривленим значенням слів. Так, у нас тижневі черги під польським консульством у Львові називаються "спрощеною системою отримання шенгенських віз", а лідером партії Трудова Україна є людина, яка ніколи в житті не працювала.
Особливо викривленим є термін “еліта”, а також похідні від нього прикметники: “елітна” школа, “елітний” дитсадок, “елітний” район, “елітний” автомобіль.
Будучи похідним від латинського слова electus, яке, по ідеї, означало "відібраний", слово "еліта" у своєму найбільш поширеному, суспільному значенні мало б означати найкращих у своїх галузях людей. Найрозумніших вождів, найталановитіших митців, геніальних вчених, найсправедливіших суддів, найвойовничіших полководців, іноваційних підприємців.
Однак, коли йдеться про Україну, то тут нам слід обережно поставитися до перекладу, і скористатися німецьким словником, який electus перекладає як ausgelesen, що теж означає відібраний, але вже за ознакою кращої або гіршої якості. І тут до нас приходить справжнє нинішнє значення слова "еліта"! Бо в нас воно означає недалеких злодійкуватих політиків, корумпованих суддів, розжирілих генералів небоєздатної армії, бізнесменів-приватизаторів та "иже с ними", які позбавляють свій народ, твоїх і моїх дітей майбутнього. Які безсоромно крадуть, брешуть, влаштовують вакханалії, захищаючись від гніву людей посвідченнями, мєнтовськими кирзаками і палицями.
Саме вони мешкають в "елітних" районах та пересуваються "елітними" авто, відвідують "елітні" курорти.
У той же час люди, яких я схильний називати найкращими – мудрі вчителі, талановиті музиканти, цікаві письменники, доморощені філософи – живуть скромно і плодами праці своєї.
Все ж таки справжнє значення слів важливе. Напевно так само, як закон Ома і Бойля-Маріотта.
